I think 70% of Taiwanese people do love the movies very much and lots of them are crazy about movies. But there are many people that don’t often watch movies like me, too. I think there are three reasons why people love movies and why people don’t like movies.

The first reason: I think there are some people who are crazy about movies is because they want to see why the movie is so popular, and how can the movie make so much money. The second reason, I think there are some people who watch movies to relax themselves, watching movies is just fun for them. The third reason, I think there are people who go to the movies and want to know something. They want to know what were the stories about.

There are three reasons about why I watch so few movies these years. The first reason, I think it wastes too much time  to watch a movie in the theater. And it wastes too much money, too. The second reason, I think it is too tiring to sit on the chair for 2 to 3 hours. I will be crazy if I always sit on the chair for so much time. The third reason, there is a very big screen in my home. I don’t think it is a good idea for me to go to the theater just for watching movies.

Movies are one of the most popular things in the twenty-first century, and following advances of the computer graphics, movies will become more exciting in the future.

On the street, there are many people who wear jeans. Jeans have become more popular with modern people since about fifty years ago. The first jeans were made for workers. Why have jeans changed so much during these years? I think there are four reasons.

Firstly, jeans can male people’s legs look longer and thinner. And most of the modern people think long and thin legs are much more beautiful than short and fat legs, so people love to wear jeans very much. For example models usually like to wear jeans to show how beautiful their legs are.

The second reason, jeans are so popular that everyone wears them. So, some people wanted to be unique, and people who wanted to be unique started to make their pants different from others. After that, many different kind of jeans came out, then more and more people started to wear jeans because of the features of jeans, like holes in jeans or different colors of jeans appeared

The third reason, jeans are usually make with hard material, so jeans are hard to rip. This reason makes jeans popular with workers. Jeans for work are usually cheaper than jeans for other uses. Like, construction workers and some of the fishermen.

The fourth reason, it’s also the most important one, jeans are very flexible , they match up with most of the clothes very well. That is the most popular kind of all the fashion pants. You can go almost every where with a pair of jeans, you can go to work, go to see the president, perhaps you can go biking and go jogging.

International fashion designers think that jeans will continue to be popular in the near future. And I think jeans will be my favorite pants in my high school career. Jeans are just fantastic for a junior high school student.

“Dunk it through the net, Bill”, a boy shouted. “Yes, we won”, everyone cried. A team has just won a game. Basketball is very popular with teenagers and children in Taiwan. It’s like football in England, everybody likes a sport particularly.

The first reason is teenagers are influenced by Americans. Teens can watch a lot of sports channels in T.V. and they often see professional basketball players in games. So they want to copy them and be like them.

The second reason is it doesn’t take a lot of space to play basketball. A net and a ball would make a game, even if you haven’t got a team to play with, you can still practice by yourself. Unlike tennis or football, you can easily get a net yourself and not have to wait for ages.

I like playing basketball as well, it’s cheap and fast. I don’t need to buy a racket or a helmet. Only a ball will do, and it’s great to play with friends because we can learn teamwork.

One of the things I wanted was a mobile phone. I’ve been thinking about it for one or two months, and I have been saving money every week. Now let me tell you the main two reasons why I want to have a mobile phone.

First a mobile phone has the entertainment section. If it’s a good mobile phone, you can find games, a camera and a MP3 player in it. Whenever I’m bored, I would take out my mum’s mobile and start playing games. My mum used to have a Mario game, which was quite fun. My friend has a tennis games in her mobile , which is really fun! I like camera as well, apart from just taking pictures of other people you can put on different kinds of frames as well. Last of all, I was really surprised when I heard a mobile has a MP3 player! Now I see lots of people using mobiles to listen to music instead of using the real MP3!

Second, when my cram school finish I always have to take out a penny or two to phone my mother, so if I have a mobile I wouldn’t have to use the public telephone. Besides, what if I don’t have a penny or two and there it’s quite difficult to find a public telephone nowadays.

I think having mobiles is great! But mum says I can have it when I’m bigger, it might be next summer or next week. Who knows?

It’s strange why teen students like to play computer games so much, isn’t
it? Well, there are lots of kinds of P.C. games, such as shooting games or
role playing games. Those games you can’t really do it in real. You
wouldn’t start using the gun shooting all over the place, would you? But
playing a P.C. game can let you really experience the real.
As a teenager I like to play P.C. games as well, apart from board games and
puzzle games. Sims is the best game I’ve ever played, it’s a role playing
game. We get to be a person in a city and we can have a family and a house,
and go to school and work and do all kinds of things. But when we go to
secondary or college we wouldn’t be able to play as much as we used to in
an elementary school. The homework or exam difficulties would increase a
lot, some people might get bad grades and they don’t want to face the truth
so the put their homework aside and start playing P.C. games. Or, you might
have finished your homework and start to find some entertainments. Suddenly,
you realize that there’s not much time left to go out with your friends or
family. So you would stay home and start playing computer games!
I think playing computer games is great but don’t play too much, and we
still have to remember to do our homework.
